Here are the three versions of Linux that I liked the most this year.
1 > elementary OS

Elementary has the best desktop environment for most users. The Pantheon desktop is build upon human interface guidelines: https://elementary.io/docs/human-interface-guidelines The newest release (Loki) is very stable and this release has a quick login time. Everything feels responsive and polished.
2 > KDE neon

The latest and greatest of KDE community software packaged on a rock-solid base. KDE neon has a super fast bootup and a slick and modern desktop environment. Plasma desktop 5.8 is really stable, beautiful and fast. The fact that KDE neon is based on the Ubuntu 16.04 base means everything just works.
3 > BunsenLabs Linux

BunsenLabs is ideal for older computers. BunsenLabs is based on Debian 8. This means: stability, performance, and compatibily (43 000 packages). It uses Openbox as window manager. Openbox is extremely lightweight and customizable.
